Patio pieces often get ruined due to rain, wind or sun exposure and since outdoor furniture is expensive, maintaining and cleaning your furniture is a must. Here are some tips on how to get your outdoor furniture pieces looking brand new.

Cast aluminum – Spray all-purpose cleaner and scrub the furniture with a nylon scrub brush. Once your furniture is clean, wipe it down with a microfiber To protect your furniture, coat it with car wax.

Cushions – outdoor furniture cushions can get quite damaged and dirty. If you can’t put them in your washing machine, make a solution of warm water and detergent and let your cushions soak for 2 hours. Then scrub your cushions and rinse. Leave them to sundry.

Outdoor foam – Your cushion foam can sometimes absorb outside smells and gather mold. To clean your foam, remove its cover and place it in the washing machine on a cold wash. Make sure you put your foam through a long spin cycle to rise out excess water. Then leave it flat to air dry.

Umbrella – Umbrellas can get stained by leaves, water, and bird droppings. Rub a brush with laundry soap and clean the umbrella while it’s Rinse your umbrella with a hose and leave to air dry.

Wicker – Wicker can have a lot of crevices that can collect dust and cobwebs. Use a vacuum cleaner on your wicker and then wipe it down with a damp cloth. Let your wicker air dry, before placing any furnishings.
