HAMPTON — The value of assessed property in Hampton has fallen by 2.71 percent from a year ago, as $312 million was wiped off the assessed value of real estate. The loss was revealed by figures released Friday.

Home sales in the metropolitan Chicago real estate market rebounded strongly in the second half of 2009 when home sales rose 23 percent. Amid those improving market conditions, RE/MAX sold more listed homes than any other brokerage organization. RE/MAX has held the number one position, based on closed sales volume, in the metro Chicago real estate market for the last 21 years.
