Mortgage lending rises but remains subdued

Mortgage lending rose by 24% during the month, but lending in the first quarter of 2010 is 24% down on the last quarter of 2009, the CML says Mortgage lending increased by 24% in March compared to February, in line with the typical seasonal pattern of lending, according to the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML).
